Scholarship/Internship Opportunities for Undergraduate Students:
- Research Experiences for Undergraduates: summer research opportunities for undergraduate students at REU Site at various national institutions.
- Significant Opportunities for Atmospheric Research and Science: summer research opportunity at National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado or other sponsoring laboratories.
- NOAA Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship: two years of academic assistance and summer internship at NOAA facility.
- EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship: two years of scholarship and summer internship at NOAA facility for students attending Minority Serving Institution as defined by US Department of Education.
- AMS Senior Named Scholarships: scholarship for students who are in the final year of undergraduate study.

- National Weather Association Scholarships: scholarships and awards to undergraduate and, in some cases, graduate students majoring in meteorology or related fields.
- Summer Internship at Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO): summer research opportunities within one of JISAO’s seven research themes and work with a JISAO, NOAA, or University of Washington scientist at either the UW campus or the NOAA Northwest Regional Center in Seattle.
- NASA Student Airborne Research Program: an eight-week summer internship program for rising senior undergraduate students to acquire hands-on research experience in all aspects of a scientific campaign using one or more NASA Airborne Science Program flying science laboratories
- The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program: scholarship to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines by the Department of Defense (DoD).

- AMS Graduate Fellowship: fellowship for students who are entering their first year of graduate school to pursue a degree in atmospheric sciences or related sciences.
- AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science: fellowship for a student in the process of completing a dissertation on the history of the atmospheric, or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences.
- NSF Graduate Fellowship: fellowship for graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.

- Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship: fellowship for graduate students in sciences or engineering disciplines who pursue a doctoral degree at a U.S. institution.
- Department of Energy (DOE) Computational Science Graduate Fellowship: fellowship for graduates students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields that use high-performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.
- Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program: provides funding support for graduate students to conduct part of their thesis research at a host DOE laboratory/facility in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist within a defined award period.
